Mufti Ahmad Jafari was born in Miami, Florida, and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at a young age. His journey in Islamic studies began in 2001 when he started memorizing the Quran, completing his memorization in 2004. Driven by a deep desire for a more profound understanding of the Quran, he enrolled in the ‘Aalimiyyah program at Darul Uloom Al-Madania in Buffalo, New York, in 2006. During his studies, he focused on Arabic syntax and grammar, Aqeedah, Usul ul-Fiqh, Usul ul-Hadith, and Tafseer.
To further his knowledge, Mufti Ahmad continued his studies at Darul Uloom Canada (Chatham-Kent), where he pursued a Master’s degree in Theology and the Transmission of Hadith. In 2012, he returned to Atlanta to serve as an Imam, dedicating three years to the spiritual and educational needs of the community.
His passion for deepening his scholarly knowledge led him to travel to Durban, South Africa, where he specialized in issuing legal religious verdicts and jurisprudence under the guidance of Mufti Ebrahim Desai at the esteemed Darul Iftaa Al-Mahmudiyyah (askimam.org).
Currently, Mufti Ahmad serves as the Religious Director at ILM Academy. In addition to his responsibilities at ILM Academy, he travels throughout the United States to deliver Jumu’ah khutbahs, lead halaqahs, guide youth initiatives, and contribute to efforts aimed at revitalizing and spreading awareness of the Deen.
In addition to his religious studies and leadership roles, Mufti Ahmad is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an expected completion date of December 2026.
